The Johnstons

Last week we spent conference weekend up in New Hampshire at Lake Winnipesaukee with Mason, Ashley, Ally and Brian. The Lake was still mostly frozen, but that didn't stop the boys from getting the kayaks out and forging through. Ryan had so much fun breaking the ice apart, and the girls had fun standing on a chunk of ice. It was such a thrill.

Ryan really wanted to get in the water, so he "attempted" to run from the center of the chunk of ice all the way to the shore.
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures, but he fell through about where the hole is and got soaked up to his knees. His feet were freezing!

Ryan turned 27 last month, so we celebrated by going out for Thai food with our friends Ashley, Mason, Ally and Brian. We had so much fun and especially enjoyed the way the restaurant celebrates birthdays: turning the lights down, turning up the music, the whole restaurant clapping and best of all, twirling flashlights around while singing Happy Birthdy. It was awesome.

That's it for an update for now; although, there is still more to come. Now I need to focus on my Easter talk (yes, we are speaking in church on EASTER SUNDAY and I keep finding reasons to put off preparing it) and wrapping up our plans for Euro 2009! Whew who, we leave in 8 days! Mom and Dad Johnston, are you ready to party?

At the very end of the Cape is P-town (warning: not like Provo). It's a cute town, with a huge tower in the middle, and some amazing views of the ocean.

The Kennedy Compound that is. We went to Hyannis (on the Cape) and were determined on finding it. Well, after circling a few times, help from a map, and comfirming our findings thru google search when we got home, we concluded that the trip was a success.

Before searching for the compound, we walked thru the JFK Museum in Hyannis and learned all about the love the Kennedy's had/have for their summers spent there.

Lucky for us, my parents decided to visit us in Boston during Restaurant Week, so we were treated to the best steak in town for half the price: Ruth's Chris. Hip hip hooray!

Thanks Mom and Dad! I'm so glad we revitalized our grand restaurant experience from our Tavern fiasco.

I had the pleasure of travelling to Seattle again for work last month. This time I got a room with a much better view...

AND I was able to spend a few days with family. I had so much fun hanging out with my in-laws- I love you guys!

My next trip was international! It was to Montreal, which is only an hour flight, but I still got my passport stamped. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the city, but I had a view from my hotel room of the lake. It's very european, well everyone speaks French, so hopefully I'll be able to go back up and spend some more time there. I hear it's a really cool city.
