The Johnstons

Last night Ryan and I went to the BYU vs. Real Salt Lake match in the new stadium. The game was kind of slow until the very end, but needless to say, we had a great time, and thanks to Vince we had the best seats in the house!
Check out the guys behind us. One of them was yelling in my ear all night, and the other was busy flirting with the girl's mom they were with, so let's just say I was entertained even when the game was slow.
The best part of the night though, was when some guy a couple rows up yelled "Cut your hair, you fruit!" Wow, when did we learn to be so politically incorrect. Here's the guy.....

This is Real's coach, the one we saw at Costco and took a picture with a few months ago, well, at the end of the game we walked right passed him and it just made Ryan's night!

Well, we love all the fun little activities we get to do in Provo while we are still here. We're trying to get everything in before we leave, but it's difficult when Ryan has to study. I'm glad he took off a few hours to play last night. For all those wondering, we move to Boston at the end of August! Yay, I can't wait. I can't even wait to pack (actually I've already started) and drive across the country with Mom and Dad Johnston. It's going to be sweet!

Now back to....So you think you can dance........Project Runway.....Shear Genius......what can I say, I love tv!

Our last full day in Washington we spent in downtown Seattle. We started our day off with a delicious lunch at Ivar's on the Pier, then headed over to the shopping district to hit up some of the fab stores, then off to Pike's Market for some highly recommended cookies from Jayme.


That night we enjoyed some amazing Garlic Fries and Kettle Corn at the Mariners vs. Tigers game. We had so much fun and enjoyed a Mariner victory in the bottom of the 8th.

I know I don't post much, but I have to interject my opinion about the movie Hancock. Don't be enticed by Piper's description of it as "entertaining." It just wasn't good at all. For a movie billed as a summer blockbuster, the film lacked any real quality.

We had such a great day on the 4th. First we took advantage of the holiday and slept in after our long day in Victoria, then enjoyed a delicious lunch and after went and saw Hancock. I can't say that I would recommend this movie, but I truly enjoyed every minute of it and thought it was extremely entertaining, just not the best show out there. After the movie Ryan and I went kayaking (or is it canoing?) in the bay my in-laws live on. It's an interesting area where the tides go in and out a couple times a day, but that evening the tide was in, so we canoed out to a little island in the middle and back. The first time Ryan and I went kayaking we were on our Honeymoon in a 2-man kayak in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico, so the current was strong and it was really hard. I enjoyed it, but let Ryan do most of the work, so he hated it. Let's just say it took some convincing to get him out in that little boat, but it was much easier this time and we had so much fun!





As the sun set and it got darker, we decided to let of the fireworks Mom and Dad got for us. Growing up in California, I was never able to let off my own fireworks on the 4th, so this was a new experience for me. All I can say is I really missed out in my childhood because fireworks are sweet! I had so much fun lighting them off and we all got so excited and surprised with every one because we never knew what we were going to get. After we finished off our box of amateur fireworks, we sat around in the lawn chairs and enjoyed the BEST FIREWORKS I have ever seen! The houses next door to us let off the professional stuff so we just sat back and enjoyed. We were also able to look out over the Bay and enjoy everyone else's shows too. It was such a different 4th then we all have ever had and will probably be the most memorable. It was quite enchanting!

I have had a change of heart for Canada. The two places I have been, Niagara Falls and Victoria, are amazing! I have never had the desire to travel to Canada, but every time I go I just love it! After visiting the Gardens we walked around downtown, which is really hip and cool, went to the wax museum, Ryan's favorite as a child, and toured this interesting Victorian Gothic Mansion.

For the Fourth of July weekend we traveled up to Washington and visited Mom and Dad Johnston at their AMAZING new home in Gig Harbor. We took a ferry over to Victoria one day and had the pleasure of walking through The Butchart Gardans. What a beautiful place and so inspiring! I have never had the desire to work in the yard, or ever have a garden for that matter, until I saw this place. Oh the possibilities!!! Now all I need is a yard........Maybe in a few years.









All I can say is if you are ever in Victoria, GO GO GO GO GO!!!!!!

Jayme, John, and their adorable boys Jacob and Dylan were in Utah this past weekend for a Family reunion so we were able to visit for a little bit and grab some dinner. It is always a treat to see family and especially to play with our adorable nephews!

Most of the pictures we took turned out blurry because the camera was on the wrong setting, especially the picture below. I still love the look on Dylan's face so I decided to post it regardless. He just loved being thrown up in the air!
It appeared that Dylan was extremely hungry because he was going at Ryan's thumb for awhile.
We tried to get a group picture by asking some innocent bystander outside the mall. Unfortunately we only took 2 pictures, and in the better one, John is closing his eyes.
This picture is the main reason why I hate asking strangers to take pictures: you never know what you are going to get. Although, Jayme, I think it's a cute one of you! Thanks for the visit guys! Can't wait to see you again during Christmas!
